The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business is comprised of the University’s three accredited business schools: Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration, the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management, and the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management. The College delivers undergraduate, graduate, and professional business programs creating a collaborative, comprehensive business management program that preserves the excellence of all three schools while uniting the faculty and students. The Opportunity
Within the SC Johnson College of Business, Area Chairs oversee the eight areas of scholarship across the College: Accounting; Applied Economics and Policy; Finance; Management & Organization; Marketing & Management Communication; Operations, Technology, & Information Management; Strategy and Business Economics; and Services Management. Area coordination plays a critical role as it builds relationships across the three schools in common areas, developing informal and formal activities, developing curriculum within a discipline, and overseeing area personnel and external relations.
As an Area Chair Coordinator, you will be at the heart of our Faculty Affairs office, supporting the effective business and daily administrative operations of the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business College Area initiatives, programs, and events. Your expertise in project management, administrative skills, and budget management will be essential in ensuring the smooth administration of various initiatives. This role requires a proactive and collaborative mindset, as you will work closely with faculty, graduate students, and staff to create a vibrant and inclusive academic environment.
